Dear Colleague:

The coming months will be critical for winning long-term public transportation funding in Washington. With the clock ticking on short-term funding running out yet again, I want to encourage your organization to promote Voices for Public Transit—the citizen advocacy movement organized by APTA.

To understand what Voices for Public Transit is all about, please take a look at this great new video, "Why Should You Be a Voice for Public Transit?" (below)

The Marketing and Communications Committee leadership and staff have worked closely with the Voices for Public Transit team to help raise the advocacy clout of public transportation and we need your help.

We can all help grow this organization by highlighting it with key audiences whenever possible. As a first step, make sharing the Voices for Public Transit video with your key stakeholders a priority - everyone from partners, employees and rider organizations to community supporters.

If you have questions, don't hesitate contacting me at jkalczuk@ridetherapid.org or Mantill Williams, APTA's Director of Advocacy Communications at mwilliams@apta.com. I very much hope you join in getting on board with Voices for Public Transit.

Sincerely,

Jennifer Kalczuk
External Relations Manager, The Rapid
Chair, APTA Marketing and Communications Committee
